Projects or programmes must respond to at least one of the NAC’s six key focus areas: Social cohesion and nation building Marginalised and indigenous arts Addressing social ills Supporting vulnerable groups New works and digital arts Capacity building and entrepreneurship Applicants are expected to demonstrate how their proposed work will contribute meaningfully to artistic development, job creation, and community engagement. Priority will be given to proposals with a strong community base and partnerships that promote inclusion—especially of youth, women, and people with disabilities, particularly in historically disadvantaged areas. Funding Categories Funding is available under three organisational development phases: Foundation Phase: Up to R500,000 per annum (for organisations operational for 1–5 years) Intermediate Phase: Up to R750,000 per annum (for organisations operational for 5+ years) Established Phase: Up to R1,000,000 per annum (for organisations operational for 10+ years) Organisations currently receiving NAC 2025 Project Funding are ineligible for this programme. Additionally, successful applicants under this call will not be permitted to apply for other NAC programmes (including PESP) during the three-year cycle.
