The IDFA Bertha Fund has opened applications for the IBF Europe Minority Co-production Scheme, supporting international documentary co-productions between European producers and filmmakers from regions including Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Oceania.
The programme encourages European producers to participate as minority co-producers in high-quality documentary projects while strengthening cross-border collaboration within the global documentary sector.
Projects must involve at least one European producer and one non-European producer, with the application submitted by the European co-producer. The collaboration must include a creative contribution from Europe, such as a key crew member or post-production service.
Funding
The scheme offers grants of up to €40,000 per project.
The funding is designated to cover production and post-production expenditures, including subtitling, mastering, screening copies, and auditing services. The cumulative project budget is restricted to a maximum of €600,000.
