
The STREETS Awards recognise outstanding social enterprises and initiatives demonstrating measurable social impact within the global hospitality and tourism sector.
Open to emerging and early-stage organisations of up to five years, the awards honour ventures that combine social purpose with sustainability, with a particular focus on youth development.
STREETS offers a mentoring application process that helps changemakers strengthen their storytelling, clarify their impact, and present transparent financials. Every applicant benefits, whether through recognition, visibility, or valuable feedback to help develop their venture.
Funding
Two award categories are available:
The STREETS Social Enterprise Award for Hospitality and Tourism offers a winner's prize of $10,000 USD and an honourable mention of $2,500 USD.
The Alan Spanier Impact Award for Youth Development in Tourism offers a winner's prize of $10,000 USD and an honourable mention of $2,500 USD.
A separate Alan Spanier Impact Award for Emerging Hospitality and Tourism Initiatives carries a prize of $5,000 USD.
Assessment criteria
Applications are evaluated across the following areas:
Mission and Social Impact: the organisation's objectives, impact, and how they are measured
Governance and Leadership: legal governance structure and leadership composition, including board or advisory members
Programme and Activities: the specific services and activities provided
Community Engagement and Communications: partnerships, engagement strategies, and communications
Budget and Financials: a profit and loss budget demonstrating transparent financial planning, resource allocation, and sustainability
Eligibility
Open to social enterprises, mission-driven businesses, non-profits, and NGOs operating in the hospitality and tourism sectors
Organisations must be emerging or early-stage, up to five years old
Only legally recognised organisations may apply; individual applicants are not eligible
Initiatives must demonstrate a focus on social impact, ideally including youth development
