Call for Nominations: Global Pluralism Award 2027

The Global Pluralism Award is an international recognition programme that celebrates and supports individuals, organisations, governments, and private sector actors advancing more inclusive societies.


Presented every two years by the Global Centre for Pluralism, this award recognises and supports efforts that foster inclusion, respect diversity, and strengthen social cohesion across communities and societies.


Pluralism is understood as a positive response to diversity. It involves decisions and actions that embrace and respect differences across race, ethnicity, indigeneity, religion, culture, language, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, and other dimensions of identity.


Funding

Three winners will share a total prize pool of CAD 150,000.


Each winner will receive:

  • CAD 50,000 in prize funding

  • International recognition for their work

  • Access to a global network of pluralism leaders

  • Invitations to events, workshops, and thematic exchanges

  • Opportunities for visibility, storytelling, and collaboration

  • Ongoing engagement and support through the Award & Leaders Network


Eligibility

The Award is open to candidates from any country and welcomes applications from a broad range of sectors and disciplines.

  • Eligible applicants include civil society organisations;

  • NGOs and faith-based organisations;

  • Labour unions and social movements;

  • Think tanks and research institutes;

  • Social enterprises and corporations; and

  • Public or private institutions working in education, health, research, and policy.


Individual practitioners are also encouraged to apply. This includes

  • Artists;

  • Entrepreneurs;

  • Journalists and academics;

  • Filmmakers; and

  • Policymakers.


This eligibility is also applicable to other changemakers whose work has made a significant contribution to advancing inclusion, dialogue, and respect for diversity within their communities or fields of practice.


Whether through creative practice, community engagement, advocacy, research, or institutional leadership, applicants should demonstrate how their work has contributed to building more inclusive societies where diversity is protected, valued, and embraced.
