CTM Festival is inviting artists from around the world to apply for In Listening 2027, an international open call supporting new works in experimental sound, audio art, and sonic storytelling.
The programme seeks original projects that use sound as the primary artistic medium, exploring the intersections of music, noise, poetry, storytelling, documentary, and listening practices.
Selected works will premiere at CTM Festival 2027 in Berlin as both a live performance and a specially developed radio broadcast.
Funding
Selected projects will each receive a €6,000 artist commission.
In addition, CTM will cover travel to Berlin and accommodation during the festival and production period.
Categories
Applications are invited for projects that:
Explore experimental sound practices, audio art, or sonic narratives.
Respond to the CTM 2027 theme, "Process…ing."
Can be developed as both a live performance and a radio or podcast work.
Create engaging listening experiences through sound rather than visual presentation.
Works may incorporate music, spoken word, documentary, field recordings, or other forms of audio experimentation, provided that sound remains the central artistic medium.

The call is open to artists worldwide, including practitioners working in:
Sound art
Experimental music
Audio storytelling
Radio and podcast production
Documentary audio
Poetry and spoken word
Collaborative projects are also welcome.
Application requirements
Applicants are required to submit a project proposal outlining their concept, artistic approach, and indicative budget, together with an overview of the technical requirements for the work and a current CV.
Collaborative projects are welcome, with groups asked to submit a combined CV as part of their application.
