The Hopper Prize supports artists around the world through unrestricted grants, international exposure, and digital archiving. Established as a grant-making institution and digital platform, the Hopper Prize provides financial support and career-enhancing visibility to artists demonstrating a serious commitment to their work.
The programme accepts submissions through a bi-annual open call, selecting a new cohort of artists for each grant cycle. Since 2018, artists at different stages of their careers, from emerging to mid-career and established practitioners, have been supported through the programme.
Funding
The Hopper Prize awards USD 26,000 in grants annually.
Four artists receive USD 4,500 each, while eight artists receive USD 1,000 each. The grants are unrestricted, allowing recipients to use the funding in support of their artistic practice.
In addition to the grant recipients, 60 artists annually are selected for inclusion in the Hopper Prize digital archive, with 30 artists selected from each grant cycle.
The archive provides additional visibility to curators, gallery owners, collectors, and arts audiences internationally.
