
The EUNIC (EU National Institutes for Culture) has launched the second edition of the Spaces of Culture call for proposals, supporting new cultural relations projects across Sub-Saharan Africa.
The programme supports contemporary and innovative projects that foster intercultural dialogue, co-creation, and equitable partnerships between African and European cultural actors.
Spaces of Culture is part of the wider Africa-Europe Partnerships for Culture programme, funded by the European Commission, and aims to strengthen cross-border collaboration and cultural exchange.
Funding
Selected projects may receive up to EUR 50,000.
A minimum co-funding contribution of 5% is required from project partners.
Eligibility
Applications must be submitted by partnerships that meet the following criteria:
Projects must take place in Sub-Saharan Africa
Proposals must be developed and implemented through a triangular partnership
Partnerships must include:
At least three local cultural and/or civil society partners
At least three full EUNIC members (or two where no EUNIC cluster is present)
The involvement of an EU Delegation
Projects must be co-created and jointly developed by all partners
Projects should reflect principles of cultural relations, including dialogue, mutual learning, and shared capacity building.

-Social inclusion
-Sustainability
-Tourism
-Youth
The programme encourages innovative, cross-border and interdisciplinary approaches, including digital and hybrid formats.

Partnerships are encouraged to begin collaboration and concept development before 30 April 2026.
