
The Shore Scripts Feature Contest recognises emerging screenwriting talent who are crafting bold, original stories across every genre. Each year, winners are connected directly to the industry professionals, development support, and career pathways needed to turn their scripts into produced films.
The Shore Scripts Writer Development Program is a structured support system for emerging screenwriters, designed to help writers refine their work and build the relationships needed to break into the industry.
Funding
Winners receive over $5,000 in cash and prizes. All winning and finalist writers are enrolled in the Shore Scripts Writer Development Program and receive direct introductions to a curated network of 300+ producers, agents, and executives.
Winners also receive a mentorship call with Debbie Berman, editor of Black Panther, Captain Marvel, and Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Benefits
Beyond the cash prize, all winners and finalists receive ongoing development support from Shore Scripts' dedicated Writer Development Manager, helping writers prepare their work for real industry opportunities.
Writers gain direct access to a network of over 300 industry professionals actively seeking new material, with a proven track record of representation deals, spec sales, and produced projects.
Eligibility
Open to screenwriters from all countries
Scripts must be written in English
Scripts should be 80–120 pages in standard screenplay format, submitted as a PDF
Writers may not have earned more than $50,000 in screenwriting fees in the preceding 18 months
All genres are accepted, including animation
Writers of all ages may apply
