The SAMPRA Development Fund is inviting applications from South African recording artists and live music promoters seeking support to stage festivals and concerts between 1 June 2026 and 31 May 2027.
Designed to strengthen South Africa’s live performance ecosystem, the Fund contributes to core production costs, including venue hire, sound equipment and engineering, artist fees, project management, and marketing. Awards of up to R1,000,000 (excluding VAT) are available, covering no more than 50% of the total event budget.
Funding is released after the event has taken place and once all required reporting and documentation have been submitted.
Who can apply
Eligible applicants must:
Be based in South Africa
Have successfully staged at least two festivals or concerts within the past two years
Host the event at a SAMPRA-licensed venue
Present live performances (pre-recorded events are not eligible)
Projects should demonstrate meaningful local, regional, provincial, or national appeal.
Applicants may not have received SAMPRA Development Fund support for a festival or concert within the last six months. Funding may not be duplicated with other South African collective management organisations.
