Open Call: Leica Society International Photography Grant 2026

Amount:

$7.5K

The Leica Society International (LSI) Photography Grant is now accepting applications from photographers worldwide working on personal documentary or artistic photography projects.

Now in its tenth year, the grant supports photographers who are creating or completing an in-progress body of work. The 2026 theme, "To Be Seen," invites projects that explore what it means to see and be seen through thoughtful, respectful visual storytelling.

Funding

Selected photographers will receive:

  • USD 7,500 grant

  • A new Leica camera and lens

  • An exhibition at the Leica Gallery in Paris

The first runner-up will also be invited to exhibit their work at the Leica Gallery in Paris.

Theme

This year's theme, "To Be Seen," encourages photographers to submit projects that bring overlooked people, places, histories, or communities into view with dignity, care, and intention.

The strongest applications will demonstrate compelling visual storytelling and reflect on identity, belonging, agency, and representation.

Eligibility

Applications are open to photographers worldwide (where permitted by law) who are at least 18 years old by 24 July 2026.

Applicants do not need to use a Leica camera or be members of Leica Society International to apply. Projects must be in progress and capable of being completed within one year of receiving the grant.
