Call for Applications: Google - Build with Gemini XPRIZE 2026

The Build with Gemini XPRIZE 2026 is inviting entrepreneurs, developers, startups, researchers and small organisations from around the world to build AI-powered businesses capable of creating measurable real-world impact.


With a total prize pool of USD 2 million, the global competition challenges participants to launch a working AI-driven business in just 90 days using the Gemini API and Google Cloud technologies. Rather than rewarding ideas alone, the programme seeks ventures with real users, real customers and demonstrable revenue.


Funding

The competition offers a total prize pool of USD 2 million, including:

  • First Prize: USD 500,000

  • Second Prize: USD 200,000

  • Third–Fifth Prize: USD 100,000 each

  • 15 Runner-up Prizes: USD 50,000 each


Categories

Participants must develop a new AI-powered business operating within one of five challenge categories:

  • Education & Human Potential

  • Entrepreneurship & Job Creation

  • Small Business Services

  • Money & Financial Access

  • Professional Services Access


Projects must incorporate the Gemini API for at least one large language model (LLM) function and use at least one Google Cloud product.


Entries should demonstrate how AI agents or AI workflows improve business operations, customer experience, or service delivery.


Eligibility

Applications are open worldwide to:

  • Individuals who have reached the age of majority in their country

  • Teams of eligible individuals

  • Small organisations with fewer than 25 employees


Eligible organisations include startups, companies, nonprofits, partnerships and other legally registered entities.
