Open Call: Film Pipeline - Short Film Grant 2026

Amount:

$5K

The Film Pipeline Short Film Grant 2026 supports emerging and established filmmakers creating bold, original short films. Unlike a traditional film festival, the Film Pipeline Short Film Grant focuses on discovering exceptional storytelling talent and connecting filmmakers with meaningful opportunities for future development.

The programme seeks scripted short films that demonstrate originality, strong storytelling, and a distinctive creative voice. All genres are welcome, including narrative, animation, hybrid, experimental, and other scripted short-form works.

Funding

In addition to a USD 5,000 grand prize, the programme offers long-term industry development, mentorship, and promotional support designed to help filmmakers advance their careers beyond a single project.

The selected finalists will also receive:

  • Professional promotion of their work

  • Development support for future projects

  • Consideration for financing additional short films

  • Potential industry screenings in Los Angeles

Eligibility

The grant is open to filmmakers worldwide.

Eligible submissions include original scripted short films of any runtime typically considered a short film. Narrative, animated, experimental, hybrid, and other scripted formats are welcome.

Documentaries, reality programming, trailers, director's reels, and feature-length films are not eligible.

Applicants may submit films that have previously screened at festivals or secured distribution, as the programme places greater emphasis on long-term filmmaker development than premiere status.
