Call for Applications: Ernst von Siemens Ensemble Prize and Project Funding

Amount:

€75K

The Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation supports and recognises outstanding contributions to contemporary and classical music worldwide. Among its initiatives is the prestigious Ernst von Siemens Music Prize, presented annually to a composer, performer, or musicologist whose work has had a lasting impact on global musical life.

Ensemble Prize

Each year, two young professional ensembles receive up to €75,000 to strengthen their organisational, legal, financial, and artistic foundations. This award targets ensembles in a stabilisation phase, where growing artistic success often brings increased structural and administrative demands.

  • Be young, professional ensembles in a stabilisation phase

  • Have at least two-thirds of members under the age of 35

  • Be dedicated exclusively to contemporary repertoire

  • Be based in Germany or internationally

The Foundation particularly encourages applications from African countries and supports festivals, commissions, education programs, and new music development.

In addition to the Ensemble Prize, the Foundation provides Project Funding for institutions presenting high-quality contemporary music initiatives worldwide, including festivals, premieres, commissions, academies, and educational projects.
