The Draper Richards Kaplan Foundation has opened applications for its funding programme supporting early-stage social enterprises working to address critical social and environmental challenges.


The foundation seeks to support organisations developing innovative, scalable solutions that improve the lives of underserved communities, with a focus on long-term impact and sustainable growth.


Through a combination of funding and hands-on support, the programme aims to strengthen organisations and enable them to scale their work effectively.


Funding

Selected organisations may receive up to USD 300,000 over a three-year period, provided as either unrestricted grant funding or investment capital.


In addition to financial support, organisations benefit from extensive in-kind support, including operational and technical assistance, leadership and organisational development, and strategic guidance.


Capacity

Participants receive tailored, hands-on support from senior team members, including board-level engagement over a three-year period.


This support focuses on areas such as organisational growth, fundraising strategy, financial sustainability, and scaling impact.


Community

Recipients join a global network of social entrepreneurs, with opportunities to connect through both in-person and digital engagements, including annual gatherings and peer learning exchanges.


Eligibility

Applications are open to early-stage social enterprises and organisations that meet the following criteria:

  • Address an urgent social or environmental challenge affecting underserved communities

  • Demonstrate innovative, systems-oriented approaches that leverage existing structures and stakeholders

  • Show potential for scalability, with the ability to impact at least 10,000 people within five years

  • Operate in Africa, Europe, India, or the United States

  • Demonstrate measurable impact through data and evidence-based approaches

  • Show financial sustainability or a clear pathway towards developing revenue streams

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year.
