
The Development Innovation Ventures (DIV) Fund has opened its latest call for proposals, supporting innovative solutions with the potential to improve the lives of people living in poverty at scale.
The fund takes an evidence-based approach, backing ideas that demonstrate strong potential for impact, cost-effectiveness, and long-term sustainability. It supports innovations across sectors, from health and education to climate, livelihoods, and public systems, provided they can deliver measurable results for underserved communities.
Funding
The DIV Fund offers tiered funding depending on the stage of the innovation:
Stage 1 (Piloting):Â Up to USD 200,000 to test early-stage innovations in real-world settings
Stage 2 (Testing & Positioning for Scale):Â Up to USD 500,000 to rigorously evaluate impact and prepare for scaling
Stage 3 (Scaling):Â Up to USD 1.5 million to expand proven solutions and reach large populations
Funding supports activities such as piloting, impact evaluation, market testing, and scaling strategies. Projects may run for up to five years.
Eligibility
Applications are open to a wide range of organisations worldwide, including:
Non-profit organisations
Social enterprises
Universities and research institutions
Businesses
Partnerships across sectors
Individual applicants are not eligible.

The fund supports innovations that:
Improve the lives of people living in poverty in low- and middle-income countries
Demonstrate potential for large-scale impact (reaching millions over time)
Are grounded in evidence or a strong theory of change
Offer cost-effective solutions compared to existing approaches
Have a clear pathway to scale (public, private, or hybrid)
The DIV Fund takes a broad view of innovation, including products, services, policies, programmes, or delivery models that improve outcomes more effectively or efficiently.
