Open Call: ANNA Awards 2026

The ANNA Awards return for their fifth year, celebrating and nurturing a new generation of women-identifying artists from across Africa. Founded in 2022 by South African brands ANNA and Latitudes, the awards exist to discover, recognise, and support women artists working in contemporary African art.


Applications are open to women-identifying artists working in any medium, from across Africa and the African diaspora.


Funding

The first prize winner receives R100,000 cash, paid directly by ANNA Pure Organic, along with a year's supply of ANNA products and a presentation at RMB Latitudes 2027.


All finalists receive a Latitudes profile and consideration for a SAFFCA residency. An Audience Award is also presented, with the public voting for one finalist from the five shortlisted artists.


The audience winner receives a year's supply of ANNA products, a newsletter feature, and a social media feature on Latitudes channels.


Eligibility

  • Open to women-identifying artists only

  • Work must fall within the category of Contemporary African art, understood as art made by artists in Africa and the African diaspora

  • No restrictions on age, training, or nationality

  • No restrictions on medium

  • The artist must be the owner of all submitted work and hold all moral and intellectual property rights

  • Submitted images must accurately portray the artwork
