Call for Applications: Africa Fundraising Incubator (AFI) 2026

Amount:

$5K

Applications are now open for the Africa Fundraising Incubator (AFI) 2026, a multi-stage programme designed to help African organisations strengthen their fundraising capacity, diversify their income, and build long-term financial sustainability.

Created by the New Africa Fund (NAF), the programme combines practical fundraising training, mentorship, matching funds, and institutional support to help organisations develop stronger donor engagement strategies and sustainable funding pipelines.

Funding

The programme offers up to USD 5,000 in matching funds, plus training, fiscal sponsorship, and capacity-building support.

All participating organisations will also receive 12 months of free fiscal sponsorship, helping reduce administrative barriers while strengthening organisational capacity.

Programme benefits

The Africa Fundraising Incubator supports organisations through a structured programme that combines learning with hands-on fundraising experience.

Selected organisations will begin with online training covering the fundamentals of small-donor fundraising before putting their new skills into practice through a 30-day fundraising campaign.

Top-performing organisations will be invited to attend an all-expenses-paid, week-long fundraising and leadership boot camp in Kigali, Rwanda, covering topics such as financial management, communications, donor research, grant writing, marketing, fundraising strategy, and donor stewardship.

Eligibility

Applications are open to organisations that:

  • Are legally registered in one of the 54 African Union Member States

  • Can provide official registration documentation

  • Can submit their most recent external audit, or, where no audit is available, financial statements covering the previous five months
